Vertical Machining Centers

VTC

Traveling column type vertical machining center
  • Fixed table and spindle traverse system are adopted
  • The long table (90.55" × 20.87") can be flexibly used for machining long workpieces, multiple-piece machining, or as a substitute for a two-pallet changer
  • Large X-axis stroke for machining long parts in a small floor space

Equipped with a spindle for stable machining

The spindle is cooled by circulating cooling liquid in the spindle outer sleeve to suppress thermal deformation and ensure stable machining. This multipurpose spindle can be used for a wide variety of applications.

Fixed table and traverse spindle system allows wide machining range in a small floor space

Long table

There is no equipment on both ends of the long table, allowing free space for a variety of uses, including long workpieces and overhang workpieces.

  • 1: Large, long workpieces
  • 2: Multiple parts from one piece of material
  • 3: Workpiece overhanging from the table
  • 4: Multiple parts setup

Center partition (Option)

The optional center partition allows the VTC-530/20 to be used as two separate machines. Setup can be performed as well as workpiece loading/unloading on one side while machining is being performed on the other.

2-pallet changer type operation

Normally, machining centers having a large X-stroke require a large amount of floor space as the machines also have a large Y-axis and a large table. The VTC-530/20 has minimum floor space requirements even though the machine has long X-axis stroke of 76.77".

Floor space comparison

VTC-530/20

X-axis stroke: 76.77", Y-axis stroke: 20.87"
Table size: 90.55" × 20.87"
Floor space: 18735.42 in2(1: 156.69" × 2: 119.57")
Floor space requirement is 50% smaller

Conventional machining center with large X-axis

X-axis stroke: 78.74", Y-axis stroke: 31.50"
Table size: 88.19" × 29.53"
Floor space: 38223.16 in2 (1: 269.69" × 2: 141.73")

Design focus on ergonomics provides unsurpassed ease of operation

Fixed table and spindle traverse system are adopted

Good accessibility to the table and wide openings provide comfortable operation. The fixed table allows robots and hydraulic fixtures to be easily installed.

Productivity is improved by the MAZATROL SmoothG with intuitive operation

MAZATROL SmoothG

MAZATROL conversational programming

MAZATROL conversational programming uses conversational language and it is easy to make/edit programs by inputting data on workpiece drawings in response to questions displayed on the operation screen. Even inexperienced operators can quickly make programs with automatically determined cutting conditions and automatic creation of tool paths.

Pocket milling cycle

Pocket Milling is a new pocketing cycle for MAZATROL programming. This function maintains a constant angle of engagement between the cutter and material to create a high efficiency tool path, reduce chip load variation, extend tool life, and allow tools to be used to their full potential.

VFC function

By pushing the VFC key, the programmed cutting conditions can be overridden and changed in the machining program. The new cutting conditions data can be used when a new program is made.
