Mazak Optonics Releases Affordable Automation System, Ez COMPACT
Mazak Optonics Corp. introduces the latest in its automation lineup, the Ez COMPACT storage and retrieval system.
Designed to work in conjunction with Mazak’s flat sheet lasers, Mazak’s Ez COMPACT automation maximizes space while streamlining production. The base design is a compact load/unload and storage system situated over the laser’s pallet changer table, configured as a full Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS).
Ez COMPACT offers customizable height and tower configurations based on each facility’s space constraints. Multiple shelves allow for raw material, finished parts, and remnant sheets to be stored inside the tower(s). Pallet tray options—including material pallet, pallet with unloading tray, reference pallet, and pallet with blade tray—accommodate the needs of various production environments. Ez COMPACT supports future growth, allowing users to upgrade from a single storage tower to multiple towers.
Optimized for entry-level users, Ez COMPACT is available at an affordable price point and features a comprehensive list of standard features. The automation system’s open design offers access to the laser table for easy automation and laser maintenance. A laser table cleaning brush simplifies upkeep between laser-cutting operations. The sheet separator accommodates sheet metal material of various sizes and thicknesses to transport workpieces with ease. Material collision sensing and sheet fall prevention systems prioritize safety while supporting uninterrupted production.
Material loading and unloading capabilities on Ez COMPACT simplify monotonous tasks. Fixed table loading and mobile cart loading options enable users to keep pace with laser-cutting operations. Alignment pins support accurate loading of raw material and loading pins assist with depalletization to increase storage of raw material in the automation system. Removable finished pallet trays provide unobstructed access to laser-cut parts and facilitate easy material unloading.
Unattended and lights out production is possible with Ez COMPACT’s advanced scheduling software. The software simplifies planning and operation so users can schedule the automation system to work with the laser machine for uninterrupted production at any time.
