Quick Q&A with Ricardo Juarez

What is your background involving laser machines and the fabrication industry?

"Prior to joining Mazak, I had no knowledge of laser technology, but I did have experience in the fabrication industry. I previously worked in quality control for an injection molding company that produced car parts for Ford and GM. My background in quality control prepared me for my current role and assisted me in ensuring that Mazak Optonics sells and stocks high quality parts for our customers."

What is your current role at Mazak?

“My current role within the Mazak Optonics organization is Warehouse Supervisor. I am responsible for keeping our inventory stocked and organized while also ensuring that customers’ parts and service parts orders are shipped accurately and on time. In addition, I manage all inbound/outbound freight shipments for consumable and replacement parts.”

What is your definition of great customer service?

"I don’t think there will ever be a definition for great customer service as it all starts from within thyself, it is a passion one must have within to help others. From the moment I begin to type an email reply or pick up the phone to speak with someone, it’s as if I’ve known the person on the other side for years. Making the person on the other side of the line or reading my email reply feel at ease knowing that they are in great hands and that their problem/question will be handled accordingly is my definition of great customer service."

What are your hobbies and interests?

"I recently started riding a motorcycle; I have family and friends that ride and for quite some time I thought about getting on a motorcycle. It took some time to convince myself to give it a shot and let me just say this, I’M IN LOVE. It is amazing to ride. It is a very relaxing feeling; you feel at peace when riding. I do at times get scared as I’ve only been riding for 1 season, but I know that it is temporary as I continue to master the art of riding a motorcycle. I ride a 2005 Honda VTX1800N."

What is your favorite family tradition?

"One of our family traditions that we have started recently is that it is mandatory to meet once a month and do game night. No matter if it’s board games (Mexican Train is one of my favorites), video games or even karaoke, but we must get together and have fun doing it."
