Security and Technical Information
In addition to a free web portal, Mazak iCONNECT provides connected customers with a platform hosting an array of new digital functions, including monitoring, remote support and predictive maintenance.
VPN/ CISCO Routing Technology
The machine tool connectivity is a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) tunnel, empowered by the latest CISCO Internet of Things (IoT) routing technology. The infrastructure, designed to meet the networking standards of ISO27001, forms an IPsec VPN tunnel between a CISCO IR1101 industrial router and a CSR1000V hosted on a London based Amazon Web Server (AWS).
Vlan, WAN & Firewalls
Virtual Local Area Networks (Vlan) are deployed within the IoT router creating separate networks between Machine Tools, the office, and Wide Area Network (WAN). Name Address Translation NAT tables exist between the Vlans protected by strict firewall rules isolating specific protocols and ports and MAC Addresses to dedicated functions.
Set-Up
The entire technology mass is enabled through CISCO Operations Dashboard technology, enabling Zero Touch On boarding, allowing CompTIA Security + qualified Mazak personnel to install, check, and maintain our customer's machines' secure IoT networks remotely.
Access to the customer machines and VPNs is made from a physically divided secure limited access network, hosted within Mazak Europe's managed infrastructure.
